Forty seven Prescott High School students from Matt Rankin’s Environmental Science helped with our third plant survey in September. They spent the morning collecting data as part of a plant survey. A phone app helped them identify plants within a ten foot radius of flags placed along GPS coordinates randomly assigned by computer. The data will help determine trail alignments and management plans for the park. Huge thanks to CRT Natural Resources Committee chair Kim Reich and Maddie Horn for the scores of hours they invested in the series of three plant surveys that they led from May to September. Thank you also to the more than twenty other volunteers who helped collect data at Magee Park over the course of four months during the growing season!
